This week, we crossed the three-month mark for our signature drive, and I'm ecstatic about the progress we've made thus far. In the heat of the summer, we've collected more than 90,000 signatures, better than 35% of the way to our goal! Now that the weather is (hopefully) about to cool, we are set to kick the drive into high gear.

We have an unofficial goal of finishing the signature drive before the end of the year. If we do, we will be one of the earliest initiatives to ever qualify for the ballot in Arizona, finishing our drive a full six months early. Finishing so soon will send an unmistakable message about the strength of our organization and the support of medical marijuana legislation statewide.

But qualifying for the ballot is clearly only half the battle. If we are going to succeed in November 2010, we need to build a broad grassroots base of support — both online and offline. Therefore, we are hoping that you will encourage your friends and family to become part of this campaign. We are not seeking any major commitment from them. For now, we simply hope that they will visit our site to sign up for our e-mail alerts.
